Facebook founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg updated his timeline last May 19 with a memorable event of marrying his girlfriend.

Mark Zuckerberg and his bride Priscilla Chan got married at the backyard of their humble abode in Palo Alto, California, with fewer than 100 people in attendance composed mainly of family and friends, according to a source.

The source added that the guests have no idea that they will be attending a wedding. They thought that they will be attending a graduation party for Priscilla who graduated from medical school last week. Upon arriving, they learned that they were invited to witness the tying the knot of the Facebook CEO.

Zuckerberg ditched his famous jacket with a hoodie and dressed formally with a coat and tie while his bride wore a laced top bridal dress. Mark gave Priscilla a ruby ring that he designed himself.

Mark Zuckerberg was quiet about his private life and this is the first time that people learned about Priscilla Chan. According to the source, the two planned their wedding four months ago.

The two both went to Harvard and met in 2004. Unfortunately, Mark dropped out of school and focused in creating his social networking site while Priscilla stayed in school and earned her undergraduate degree. She continued her studies to become a pediatrician.

Who Is Priscilla Chan?

Priscilla Chan was also a student from Harvard where she met Mark nine years ago while waiting in line for the bathroom in a party.

Chan was born in Braintee, Massachusetts. She graduated high school from Quincy High School in 2003 as a valedictorian and went to study biology in Harvard with the hope of becoming a doctor.

After earning her undergraduate degree in 2007, she worked as a science teacher in San Jose, California and entered medical school at the University of California the next year.

The wedding coincides with the celebration of Mark's birthday and Chan's graduation last May 14 as well as the launch of Facebook's initial public offering last Friday.
