Facebook Photo Child Hanging On A Hook: Police Arrests Mom Alexis Breeden After Hanging 14-Month-Old Son On A Hook In Spotsylvania County, Virginia
A disturbing photo that got shared on Facebook where a child is seen hanging on a hook has led to the arrest of the 14-month-old boy's mother in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Alexis Breeden, 18, is currently facing the charge of felony child abuse filed against her even though the teenage mom explained that the photo was "a joke."
According to a Huff Post Crime report, it is believed that the child's father, Anthony Welch, posted the photo on Facebook to get back at Alexis Breeden after having an argument. "Everybody think that alexis is a good mom this is what she sent me. tell me wat the f--k yall think," the 18-year-old father, who does not live with his son and Alexis, wrote as a caption to the shared image.

Afterwards, the authorities were sent to Alexis Breeden's home to conduct an investigation on the parenting issue. It has been determined that the image was taken in early September.
Sgt. James Konicki of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office shared to CBS6 that a detective handled the criminal investigation on the case through the child victim unit. "She did an investigation and found that it wasn't a nail, it was actually a planter hook that the child was hanging from. But the child was absolutely fine," Sgt. Konicki stated.
The press release from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office in a Mail Online report claimed that the father of the child was not involved in the alleged child abuse because he lives separately from his son and Alexis Breeden. "Through the investigation it was found that the victim's father posted the photograph to get Ms. Breeden in trouble for retaliation after the two had an argument. The father wasn't involved at the time the photograph was taken and lives separately from the mother," the press release reads. Click HERE to see photo.
The press release further revealed that the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office was made aware of the disturbing photo on Facebook last Wednesday, Oct. 29, where a distressed child appeared to be suspended from a door fame. Even though the child was not injured, the mother has been arrested and charged for hanging her son on a hook.
The press release further confirmed that Detective Patte Harper with the Child Victim Unit conducted the investigation on the case with the assistance of the Department of Social Services. Alexis Breeden has already been bonded out of jail but she is only allowed to be with her son as long as there is another person with them.
