Fairfax appoints Craig Frost as real estate director
Fairfax Media has appointed Craig Frost as Real Estate Director - Domain in Melbourne within the company's new Marketplaces division.
The position has been created following recent integration of Fairfax Media's Melbourne real estate advertising businesses including The Age, Fairfax Community Network, and Domain.com.au. Frost will take up the role on April 18, 2011, reporting to General Manager - Key Categories, Tony Blamey.
Blamey said: "Our clients want us to be more streamlined in the way we deal with them. We have therefore arranged our real estate divisions into a one-stop-shop to give each of our clients access to our entire suite of advertising products through a single Fairfax Media sales representative. We are committed to providing clients with a superior level of service and wide range of products to support their individual needs.
"With Craig's appointment to this important role, real estate advertisers will get a complete multi-platform solution through Fairfax Media - local print, metropolitan print, online, mobile and video. Fairfax Media's real estate assets are unrivalled in the Melbourne market for their quality and comprehensiveness, and the creation of the Real Estate Director - Domain role will strengthen that leading position." Blamey said.
An extensive search was conducted to find the right candidate for the new role. Frost returns to Fairfax Media after having worked for 18 months as General Manager for APN in Coffs Harbour, managing The Coast Advocate and The Woolgoolga Advertiser. Prior to that, as Publications Director for Fairfax Community Network's West Region, he managed a team of more than 100 staff, and was responsible for display advertising, real estate advertising and editorial content.
Blamey said: "Craig knows the Fairfax publications well, and has a deep understanding of the real estate industry in Melbourne. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the past, and will bring high energy and enthusiasm to this role." "Craig's appointment consolidates Fairfax Media's Domain brand as the number-one multi-platform advertising channel for real estate in the Melbourne market."
Of his appointment, Frost said: "This role is a wonderful next step in my career, and I am excited at being given the opportunity to work with and lead a highly-talented team of salespeople who are experts in their field. I'm thrilled to be coming back to Fairfax Media, and to be working with so many passionate, dynamic and hard-working people."
