Zac Efron said that making love with prime Australian actress Nicole Kidman, although it is fake, is one of the highlights of his life and career.

The 24-year-old actor was nothing but delighted when he landed the role of Nicole Kidman's lover for the film "The Paperboy."

The actor recently completed the shoot for the thriller, which is based on the novel by American author Pete Dexter, in New Orleans, Louisiana and he has revealed he relished his time with Kidman.

"She's my love interest... Nicole is so gorgeous. It was everything you dreamed of. She was such a lovely person. I pinch myself everyday, especially after doing love scenes with Nicole Kidman. It was the highlight of my life. Nicole was something else and was always in character. She didn't get weird method, like some actors do, but I have never seen anyone so centered," Efron told AAP.

"The Paperboy" is a thriller that follows the story of a reporter (Matthew McConaughey) and his brother (Zac Efron) in investigating a murder case in order to free a man (John Cusack) on death row.

Nicole Kidman plays the role of a mysterious woman who writes letters to men in prison, and brings the case of Cusack's inmate to the attention of the brothers.

Nicole Kidman replaced Sofia Vergara as the latter backed out due to schedule conflict with her shooting of ABC comedy "Modern Family." Tobey Maguire should also be in the cast but also backed out from the film last June causing minor delay on the film.

The drama, slated for release in 2012, is being produced by Daniels, Millenium Entertainment, Benaroya Pictures and Nu Image Films. "The Paperboy" is bound for release in later 2012.
