‘Fallout 4’ Far Harbor DLC improvements coming, mod support for Xbox One being prepped
“Far Harbor” may be the biggest and most exciting expansion for “Fallout 4.” However, it is not without its flaws and issues. There have been recent reports of major performance issues for the DLC when played on the PS4.
The biggest issue would be the framerate for the PS4, which has lessened the performance on Sony’s next-gen console immensely, Destructoid reported. It appears that the main reason for the slow performance is the addition of radioactive fog that makes the atmosphere of Far Harbor even more sinister.
Sadly, despite the good atmosphere and view that it brings, it makes all other components of gameplay unplayable. The odd thing is that, while predominantly PS4 and some PC players have attested to the issue, the source reported that Xbox One users are not experiencing any issues.
The good thing is that developer Bethesda has already confirmed that it is working on a fix to get rid of the issues in “Fallout 4” Far Harbor DLC. In the official Bethesda forums, the developer has responded to the community and reassured tem that improvements are underway.
“We made optimisations based on the Far Harbor beta feedback, but understand some people are experiencing issues. We are actively working on more improvements,” said the developer.
While fans wait for these promised improvements, Xbox One fans have something else to look forward to. The latest update for “Fallout 4” on the Xbox One is already in the pipeline, and this is set to bring mod support to the console version.
According to CNet, Bethesda is already preparing for a beta test of the mod support on the Xbox One. The new update, tagged version 1.5.205 is already live in preparation for mods. Closed beta testing for the update is set for next week, though no specific date has been given yet.
Signups have already started for the closed beta. Eligible players who can get in on the beta will receive codes via email. Now it’s only a matter of time before the developer moves on to create mods for the PS4 as well.
