‘Fallout 4’ PC gets 4.1.5 beta update with Survival Mod, Far Harbor support, patch for console to make game harder
PC players of “Fallout 4” can expect a beta run of the new Survival Mode, available already on Steam. Bethesda has rolled out the e patch, dubbed the 1.5 Update.
As a beta, it will showcase the new Survival Mode alongside the changes that the developer has previously talked about. Together with this, the update will also include support for Far Harbor, the next DLC for “Fallout 4.” There are also some notable gameplay optimisations that were incorporated during the first closed beta run.
The new features for Survival Mode include no fast travel, saving when sleeping and increased lethality, diseases, fatigue danger and more. The entire list can be viewed via the in-game Help menu.
The characters that are set to Survival difficulty will appear under their respective Character Selection filter. The developer did note that the Survival difficulty characters are not backward compatible with the 1.4 version. This means that anyone who will upgrade to the beta and is thinking of opting out should not use Survival character saved games.
There are a couple of fixes in the 1.5 Update for “Fallout 4,” which is detailed in the link above. Apart from the new update for PC, Bethesda also announced some news regarding the Creation Kit and mods.
“Also in development, Creation Kit and Bethesda.net Mods are still in closed beta. We hope to add Support for Mods to the 1.5 Steam Beta soon with console support for Mods coming in updates that follow,” said Bethesda over the Steam page.
Fans playing the game on the consoles can also expect something their way in the coming weeks. The biggest feature is still Survivor Model and some bug fixes for the two previous DLCs.
More importantly, the new update will allow PS4 players to delete add-on context from within “Fallout 4,” Polygon reported. Hopefully, the update will come soon, so that the console players can finally get in on the Survival Mode frenzy.
