Rafael de la Fuente is reprising his role as Michael Sanchez in “Empire” Season 2, which is set to premiere on Wednesday. In a recent interview, the actor managed by Sofia Vergara’s company, Latin World Entertainment, talked about fame.

“It’s fake,” de la Fuente replied when asked if fame is a façade in an interview with Fox News. He pointed out that fame is part of his job, so he accepts and deals with it although he knows that it is not real.

For de la Fuente, being famous does not necessarily mean that one is talented or deserving of the fame. He said his ‘"Empire” Season 2 co-star Taraji P. Henson is constantly telling them to focus on the work, on getting better, on expanding their knowledge and on feeding their craft.

When asked about Vergara, de la Fuente said the Latin World Entertainment owner and currently the highest-paid Hollywood actress is extremely busy, so she has no time be involved in his career. He also revealed that he has yet to receive an invitation to Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s wedding.

In the first season of the Fox hit series, de la Fuente’s character Michael Sanchez and Jussie Smollett’s character Jamal Lyon broke up. According to de la Fuente, it is going to get messy in “Empire” Season 2.

De la Fuente revealed that his character will come back with a stronger and more mature attitude in “Season 2. While he refused to give away details, he described the upcoming season to be interesting and unexpected.

During the East Coast premiere of the Fox hit series at Carnegie Hall, de la Fuente told New Now Next that his character is less willing to compromise his views in “Empire” Season 2. He added that Smollett’s character has also slightly changed with his new position as the head of Empire Records.
