Having extra reason to rejoice on this particular day, "Good Will Hunting" star Ben Affleck and soccer star David Beckham were blessed with their youngest little ones over the course of the past twelve months.

As for the history of the special holiday, the first observance of Father's Day took place in Fairmont, West Virginia on July 5, 1908. The tribute was organized by Mrs. Grace Golden Clayton as a way to celebrate the lives of the 210 fathers who had been lost in the Monongah Mining disaster several months earlier.

Several years later, the appreciation for the family men out there continues to hold strong. "Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria shared a shout out to her dad. "Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads in the world. But especially to my daddy, Enrique, I love u daddy!!!" Longoria wrote. Other countless famous ladies like Sofia Vergara, Zooey Deschanel and Ivanka Trump sent out their love in well-wishing messages to the most important man in their life: dad.
