'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald': First look teases Dumbledore training Newt
“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” will take the fans back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A new picture that has been released online shows Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) training a Young Newt Scamander (Joshua Shea).
The first look picture posted on Entertainment Weekly shows a nervous Young Newt using his wand while being trained by Dumbledore. All the students can be seen standing in line behind the young hero, and they may be practicing their skills of spell casting against a boggart.
A boggart is shape-shifter that takes the form of the worst fear of the person standing in front of it. It can be easily controlled with a simple spell, and is a great tool to train young wizards. Fans of the franchise may remember it from the “Harry Potter” movies.
Fans also know that Newt will eventually be expelled from Hogwarts, but it may not be entirely because his poor performance with the homework. He was asked to leave after an incident involving a magical beast, but there may be more to the story.
Newt had a close relationship with a student at Hogwarts. Eddie Redmayne, who plays the role of a grownup Newt teased the complicated relationship between his character and Leta Lestrange (Zoë Kravitz).
Redmayne teased that there certainly is some love between Newt and Leta, but he didn’t confirm whether or not this is a “full blown relationship.” “But certainly, she’s somebody who has touched him hugely,” Redmayne said.
What makes things even more complicated is the fact that Leta will be seen as being in a relationship with Newt’s brother in the beginning of the film. Newt’s brother Theseus Scamander (Callum Turner) is a highly respected Auror. Both Leta and Theseus are new characters being introduced in the sequel.
“Fantastic Beasts 2” has been directed by Davis Yates. The film will be released on Nov. 15 in Australia.
