Farmer's Parody Of Ylvis’ ‘The Fox’ Goes Viral: 'What Does The Farmer Say?’

For a while now Ylvis brothers-Bard Ylvisaker and Vegard Ylvisaker-have ruled the charts with one of the smash hit viral videos "The Fox." It's time for them to make way for the hilarious parody video "What Does the Farmer Say." This parody video of Ylvis' "The Fox" has gone viral on the internet from the time it was posted on YouTube. And by looking at people's reaction to the video on social media sites such as twitter it seems people love it.

A family of a farmer decided to do a video showcasing a famer's hard work to the tune of the famous viral song "What Does the Fox Say?" This new YouTube video was posted on Oct. 29, 2013 and by now it has been viewed more 2,340,000 times. Done by a Kansas famer Derek Klingenberg and his family the video is now going viral.

His version "What Does the Farmer Say?" sings about farmers' troubles, government shutdown and various economic challenges. And from there on, it proceeds to its chorus: "Dog goes woof, cat goes meow, twitter goes tweet and my phone goes 'beep.' Miley twerks, Katy Roars, and the Chiefs go 'touchdown.' Si goes quack, the Dow goes crunch, and the government shuts down, but there's one sound that no one knows, what does the farmer say?--work work work work work work work work."

Derek Klingenberg the maker of "The Fox" parody is accompanied by his pastor brother, his daughter and nephew in the video that is filmed on his farm.

Derek who has been a farmer all his life and is K-State graduate is quite surprised with the success of his video.

"I can't believe anyone watches my videos," told Derek Klingenberg to The Hay Daily News.

Derek has been associated to music from before. He and his brothers had a music band which eventually dissolved. After that he took to composing music videos. He now has a viral video for which he got the idea from a simple text sent by his friend to him, asking him "what does the farmer say?"

"I then just had the idea for the song and wrote it in my head. I started when we finished harvest. It took me 18 days, and I didn't get much sleep," told Derek Klingenberg to The Hay Daily Newspaper.

The video that has now gone viral is being shared on twitter too. Some of the tweets read:

There is a long way to go for the viral video "What Does the Farmer Say?" in comparison to Ylvis' "The Fox- What Does the Fox Say?." "The Fox" has garnered more than 235,000,000 views by now. It is one of the biggest hits of the year but this new parody video is also doing quite well, for the start. Some of the other videos by this Derek Klingenberg are "Ranching Awesome" and "Thrift Shop."
