Fashion Icon: Nicole Kidman Stars In New Jimmy Choo Fall Campaign
One of Hollywood's top Australian imports Nicole Kidman is set to star in Jimmy Choo's 2013 fall campaign as the fashion label's latest brand ambassador.
Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo's low profile niece and the brand's newly installed creative director, is proud of her first major creative decision to tap Kidman to represent the global brand known for its handmade women's shoes.
"Nicole is one of the finest actresses in the world, who I knew could convey the empowered glamour of the brand," said Choi in a statement.
"But she is also nuanced and refined, she brings an attitude of defiance, strength, sensuality and elegance."
The campaign, which is said to have a "cinematic feel," will feature Kidman in fashion editorials shot by famous New York-based photographer Mikael Jansson.
Jansson has already done beautiful transformative editorials for magazines such as W, Interview and Vogue, featuring celebrities like Penelope Cruz, Carey Mulligan and Rihanna, among others. His portfolio also includes previous editorial spreads for Dior, Ferragamo and Calvin Klein.
With campaign shots already done by Jansson, Kidman's latest campaign for Choo is expected to debut in popular fashion glossies in August.
Kidman, who won Oscars best actress for the 2002 movie The Hours, is a pro when it comes to fashion endorsements having been the long time face of Chanel. She is most popularly remembered for the Chanel No. 5 perfume advertorials shot by Baz Luhrman in 2004 and 2005.
Aside from her newest modelling project, Kidman will also get her hands full filming the Grace Kelly biopic to be directed by Olivier Dahan (La Vie En Rose).
Based on the screenplay by Arash Amel (Erased), Kidman will play the role of the ill-fated Hollywood actress turned European princess.
"Nicole Kidman's commanding performance is the perfect portrait of a woman who was not only royalty but who also remains a legend of the silver screen and fashion icon," producer of the movie Harvey Weinstein said.
Also in the cast are Tim Roth who will play Kelley's husband Prince Rainier III, Milo Ventimiglia, Frank Langella, Parker Posey, Paz Vega and Derek Jacobi.
