Fans got worried when “Fast & Furious 8 stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel appeared to be embroiled in a heated social media conflict earlier this month, but reports claim that their beef is not real.

The Rock took to Facebook to complain about his male co-stars, who he claimed were “unprofessional” while filming “Fast 8.” The 44-year-old stars in the highly successful movie franchise as agent Luke Hobbs. “This is my final week of shooting Fast & Furious 8,” he said. “There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one.”

While he commended his “amazing” female co-stars, which include Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, Elsa Pataky and Helen Mirren, the “San Andreas” star claimed that his male co-stars are a different story. “Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't,” he revealed. “The ones that don't are too chicken sh-- to do anything about it anyway.”

Over on Instagram, The Rock – recently named the world’s highest paid actor – still had more nasty things to say. He called out some of his male co-actors whom he described as “chicken s---” and “candy a----.” He posted a photo and captioned it, “When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling -- you're right.” While he didn’t mention any specific name, fans were quick to assume it’s Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto in the film.

However, the reported feud is nothing but a publicity stint, according to a report by Life & Style. “They are playing a huge prank, and it’s all for publicity,” the insider told the magazine. “The Rock convinced Vin to amp up the drama between them so they could turn it into a WWE match to help promote the April 2017 release of Fast 8.”

The Rock has since simmered down and posted, “At the end of the day me and #F8 co-stars all agree on the most important thing: Delivering an incredible movie to the world.” However, Diesel seemed to be riled up by The Rock’s shady message. The 49-year-old actor shared his own Instagram video with a cryptic message. The video started on an upbeat note as Diesel gushed about his daughter learning the word “happy.” He ended the video with a mysterious promise. “I will tell you everything. Everything,” he said.

“Fast & Furious 8” or “Fast 8” is scheduled to hit theatres in Aug. 2017 in US theatres. The official airing date in Australia is yet to be announced.
