A 16-year-old boy died in a fatal vehicle accident involving six other teenagers including a 14-year-old unlicensed driver on Halloween night in Melbourne. Another 16-year old died in a separate car accident, and a 19-year-old in critical condition following an incident of hit-and-run.

The parents of Aaron Piroksa, 16, rushed to the scene of the accident upon learning through social networks that their son was in the four-wheel-drive that rolled over on Cummins Rd, East Brighton, just after 10pm (AEDT) on Monday. Aaron died before paramedics could arrive to help him.

Police said the vehicle was driven by a 14-year-old boy from Cheltenham. Authorities also suspect the four-wheel-drive may have been used without parental permission, and the passengers may have failed to put their seatbelts on.

Two other teenage passengers were rushed hospital in a serious condition with head, spine and internal injuries.

"It's a tragic set of circumstances," Senior Sergeant Brad McArthur told Nine News.

The tragic incident was preceded by another fatal accident in Nar Nar Goon, where 16-year-old Ebony Dunsworth, from Boronia, had died, reported Nine News. Reports said a drunk and unlicensed driver was involved in this accident.

McArthur said the accident served as another reminder about the real risk in reckless driving.

"People would understand a lot better if they had to go through what I've just gone through and tell a father his 16-year-old son is dead," he said.

The latest death brings to 230 the road accident death toll in Victoria for the year, compared to 248 for the same time last year.

Meanwhile, police received reports on a hit-and-run crash in a Melbourne suburb past 1:00am Tuesday. A 19-year-old male was crossing the intersection of Banksia Street and Lower Heidelberg Road when he was hit by a red Ford ute.

"We need to all think about the way we drive, particularly during these holiday weekends because the consequences of not taking due care and attention on our roads is devastating," McArthur told ABC Radio.
