'The Fault in Our Stars' Movie Casting: Hailee Steinfield as Hazel Grace Lancaster [PHOTOS]
International best seller, John Green, might have found the actress set to play the character in one of his highly acclaimed novels, "The Fault in Our Stars." The book is set to turn into a Hollywood film which has got Green excited. Earlier in the year, Shailene Woodley was said to play Hazel Grace Lancaster yet other news claim this time it's Hailee Steinfield.
John Green fans are desperately waiting on casting news for the film adaptation of Time Magazine's book of the Year 2012, "The Fault in Our Stars." With a director finally seated, the production of the film now lies in Director Josh Boone's hands. Hopefully, things do manage to look hopeful for the film given Boone was inspired by the book.
"John's book came along just when I needed it. It pierced my heart and helped me deal with my grief. I laughed and cried and was left with an overwhelming feeling of hope. That our lives matter, that the love and kindness we share with others reverberates long after we're gone. I feel the weight and responsibility to get this right and give his readers and devoted fans as pure a translation as possible ... We hope to create a little infinity within this film that fans can revisit over and over," explained Boone in an interview with THR.
Finally, casting is sure to be done with Director Josh Boone in the seat. Word broke out early this year that Shailene Woodley would be cast as Hazel Grace Lancaster, the female protagonist in the book. However, with Woodley currently shooting scenes for "The Amazing Spiderman 2" and "Divergent", the actress won't likely take the role of Hazel Grace.
Now, rumour has it that Oscar nominated actress, Hailee Steinfield is set to portray the role of Hazel Grace Lancaster. The book describes Hazel as a girl with a paper boy haircut and chipmunk cheeks. Surely Steinfield could pull of the look but there are still a few other potential stars in the business who could play Hazel Grace of which may be found here.
For now, all fans can do is sit back and hope Josh Boone manages to cast suitable actors for the lead roles of Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters.
