"The Fault in Our Stars" actress Shailene Woodley lost her virginity thrice, for the camera that is, which makes her a pro for this type of roles.

According to Bustle, Shailene Woodley gained Hollywood stardom by playing powerful and independent women roles, such as her knife-wielding Tris in "Divergent" to the shy but smart Amy in "Spectacular Now," and many roles in between. However, the common denominator between these movies lies in the character's sexuality - her virginity.

In Woodley's ABC Family series "The Secret Life of the American Teen," Shailene Woodley portrays the role of a 15-year old who becomes pregnant after losing her virginity at band camp. Her pregnancy became the catalyst for the show's five season projection, and marks Woodley's first time playing a virgin for the camera.

Shailene Woodley played the virgin role again in "The Fault In Our Stars." Woodley plays Hazel, a cancer patient who meets Gus while in a support group meeting. Both shared a friendship that instantly turned into romance. In the movie, Shailene makes love for the first time thus she loses her virginity.

In an interview with New York Magazine, Shailene Woodley talked about her movie "White Bird in a Blizzard" where again, she portrays the role of a virgin.

In "White Bird in a Blizzard" Woodley had multiple nude scenes. When asked whether her sex scenes were awkward, on the contrary Woodley said that it was so much fun. Woodley said that when she has sex she doesn't have clothes on. She is nude in real life that's why she wants to inject this reality into her roles to bring truth to the scene.

In "White Bird in a Blizzard" Shailene Woodley plays a virgin who has her first kiss and her first sexual experience.

"I wanted their first kiss to be sloppy, teenagerish making out. When you're younger, you think you know what to do, but you really don't. I didn't want to be exploited, but this girl-like most girls when they first have sex-doesn't know what she's doing," she reasoned.

Basically, according to Bustle, Shailene Woodley is a pro at portraying a virgin or a young woman having sex for the first time. Like the rest of her roles, Woodley depicts her characters' love scenes with a sense of truthfulness, realness and genuine investment.
