‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 3 first look: AMC releases photos and official synopsis
AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead” has been renewed for a third season, and the show hits TV screens later this year. The studio released an official synopsis on Tuesday, along with first-look photos hinting the answer to a vital question: What happened to Luciana (Danay Garcia) after getting shot in the US-Mexico border ambush?
Good news is Luciana is alive, although not kicking. The photos released by AMC show Nick (Frank Dillane) and his girlfriend Luciana inside a tunnel/sewer—both of them in pain from bullet wounds. Luciana’s condition however seems worse than Nick’s. The duo apparently managed to escape the militia that attacked them.
Another photo shows Nick’s mother Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) with her boyfriend Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), both of them trying to make things work. A closer look at the photo reveals that the militia had probably captured them as well. A gun-bearing man in boots in the background gives the tell-tale signs.
In yet another photo, Colman Domingo’s character Victor Strand can be seen, washed up by a wave of thoughts. It looks like he’s plotting something, which apparently he doesn’t really want to do.
In retrospect, the studio has finally answered by far the most pinning question of the series, which fans are indeed grateful for. Although an official release date of “Fear the Walking Dead” season 3 has not been released, it is however expected that the show will return not later than fall in the US. Meanwhile, the official synopsis of the show’s third instalment per TV Guide reads as such:
“As Fear the Walking Dead returns for season three, our families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent ecotone of the US-Mexico border. International lines done away with following the world's end, our characters must attempt to rebuild not only society, but family as well. Madison (Kim Dickens) has reconnected with Travis (Cliff Curtis), her apocalyptic partner, but Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) has been fractured by her murder of Andres.”
Furthermore, it says: “Madison's son mere miles from his mother, Nick's (Frank Dillane) first action as a leader saw Luciana (Danay Garcia) ambushed by an American militia group -- the couple escaped death, but Nick no longer feels immortal. Recovering both emotionally and physically, Strand (Colman Domingo) has his sights set on harnessing the new world's currency, and Ofelia's (Mercedes Mason) captivity will test her ability to survive and see if she can muster the savagery of her father.”
Previous reports of the show state that the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” actor Emma Caulfield will be joining the show, allegedly as a villain. Details about her character have not been revealed yet.
“Fear the Walking Dead” season 2 has been slated to arrive on Hulu by March 21. Meanwhile, Australian viewers can watch the series’ second season on Foxtel. The show airs every Monday at 1:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
