The most common celebrity names in Hollywood appear to be in the likings of Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman and a lot more. But in reality, the number of female Australian actresses is way higher than the most popular ones.

There are lots of Aussies who have also ended up doing good roles not just in the big screen but also in the television shows and other media outlets. They are not detected easily to be Aussies because they have adopted well already the American accent.

Here we feature several female celebrities that you should know by now are actually Aussies.

Yvonne Strzechowski is seen in the television show entitled 'Chuck.' This 26-year-old was born in Sydney and only had minor acting jobs in local shows in Australia before even landing her luck for 'Chuck' in the US. She became known also in her native land in Perth, Western Australia as part of the long time running soap 'Home and Away.' It was in 1998 when she decided to move to the US and after her hit role in 'Alias,' she was able to become a part of movie projects like 'The Amityville Horror.'

Isla Fisher is a 33-year-old actress who first started out as a bestseller writer before even moving on to acting. Not many knew though that she is an Australian.
