World champions Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen are reportedly working hard to bring Ferrari back on top of Formula One (F1). Alonso said in a recent interview that he and Raikkonen are hurling toward the same goals.

The partnership between Alonso and Raikkonen started when Felipe Massa left Ferrari in the end of the 2013 season. It was a comeback for Raikkonen, who raced for Ferrari from 2007 to 2009. According to the Daily Mail, F1 fans anticipated that putting two of the world's greatest F1 drivers in one team would mean great achievements for Ferrari. However, Raikkonen wasn't at his best run recently and has left Alonso in hunt for podium for Scuderia Ferrari, the Daily Mail further reported.

"We definitely work a lot together," Alonso said. The Spaniard and two-time world champion said that they have been contriving the best strategy to win races.

"We have been constantly making suggestions and comments about what we have on the track to try to help the engineers to transfer that to Maranello and to translate those comments into ideas for the car."

Alonso further added that he didn't not have to go through a lot of adjustments working with Raikkonen compared to the era when he was still racing with Massa or any of his other teammate.

In the continuing 2014 F1 season, there were some tough races and seeing Ferrari on the podium again could mean great news for F1 fans. Unfortunately, Mercedes and Red Bull have both been dominating the standings and Ferrari's highest race finish was during the Chinese Grand Prix with Alonso earning the third place and Raikkonen at the eighth position.

Alonso defended Raikkonen's substandard performance and blamed theirs cars for not having enough downforce and traction control. Alonso said that he and Raikkonen were keeping the faith and focused on improving to score more points until the very last race of the current F1 season.

Alonso and Raikkonen will be taking part at the famous Spa Circuit in the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix. Alonso placed second in last year's race behind Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel, while Raikkonen, who was racing for Lotus-Renault then, was forced to retire due to a brake-related problem on lap 27.
