The FIBA EuroBasket 2013 championship gets even more exciting as the tourney moves days away towards the knockout stages. France and Spain have surprisingly dropped their opening game in the second round, putting in a pressure cooker to perform way better in their next two games.

France entered the second round as the overwhelming favorite to top Group F following their impressive finish in the first elimination round. However, all the hype surrounding the French team was quickly wiped out after suffering a crucial loss to Lithuania on Wednesday.

Now, the hunter becomes the hunted as France direly needs a victory in their next match for them to have a better chance to advance into the next round. Yet, winning against an up-and-coming Latvian side proves to be harder than everybody thought. Just ask the Ukrainians, who were completely dominated by Latvia in the second round opener.

In a virtual do-or-die contest for France, expect Tony Parker to rack up big numbers while Nicolas Batum, Nano de Colo and Mikhail Galabale are always there to step up when needed.

Friday's schedule will also feature the game between Serbia and Ukraine. Serbia is looking to stay undefeated in the tournament, but Ukraine is expected to give them a good fight, especially after losing to Latvia. A loss for Ukraine would dampen their chance of advancing in the next round while a win will further put pressure on France.
