‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Album Out Soon, Shortlist of Potential Film Writer Down to Four
Hardcore fans are thrilled to find out that "Fifty Shades of Grey" is releasing a soundtrack in a month's time. 'Fifty Shades' will soon foray record stores with "Fifty Shades of Grey: The Classical Album."
Meanwhile, the producers have reportedly picked four writers for the film version of "Fifty Shades."
'Fifty Shades' is already the top-selling book of all time. Now that its soundtrack is coming up, will the material make historical records, too?
The 'Fifty Shades' soundtrack will be released by EMI Classics is releasing digitally on Aug. 21 and in stores Sept. 18.
"I am thrilled that the classical pieces that inspired me while I wrote the Fifty Shades Trilogy are being brought together in one collection for all lovers of the books to enjoy," author E.L. James told E! Online.
The album carries 15 tracks, including Chopin ("Nocturne #1 in B-flat minor"), Bach ("Adagio from Concerto #3") and Debussy ("La Fille Aux Cheveux de Lin").
Fifty Shades of Grey: Who will write the film version?
The "Fifty Shades" story comes in full circle for E.L. James. She was inspired by Stephanie Mayer's Twilight saga; now an established author has publicly announced his intention to write the film version of her book.
On Twitter, author Bret Easton Ellis publicly announced his disappointment over not getting shortlisted for "Fifty Shades."
"It's a very major disappointment to announce that I've somehow been taken off the list of possible screenwriters for Fifty Shades of Grey," he tweets.
E! Online reported Universal and Focus, including producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, have shortlisted four writers to move forward to film production: Karen Croner (Meryl Streep's One True Thing), Dan Fogelman (Cars, Tangled), Veena Sud (TV's The Killing) and Kelly Marcel (TV's Terra Nova).
Both De Luca and Brunetti shouted out on Twitter that there is no truth to rumours that Emma Watson has been cast for the role. Both producers tweeted separately, saying their first concern is to get a writer and director on board.
