Fifty Shades of Grey, which hit the screens last year, had left the fans high and dry with an abrupt ending. However, the unrated version of Fifty Shades of Grey is now available on iTunes with an alternate ending which holds out the hope for the reunion between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

The first film dealt with the relationship between the brooding billionaire, Christian, and the hardware store employee, Anastasia. At the end of the film, Anastasia storms out of Christian's life because of him flogging her. As the elevator door closes, Christian tries to reason with Anastasia but she leaves him with a firm “No”. For many fans, this abrupt ending was not satisfying. Meanwhile, the sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, would hit the theater by 2017. According to Time, to soothe the agonizing wait, the studio released a new alternate ending which is available through iTunes.

In the new ending, both Christian and Anastasia continue to miss each other. According to MTV, Jessie ware's”Say that you love me” plays on the background as the lovers mourn their loss. Anastasia even sends in a message,“This reminded me of a happy time” along with the toy glider plane they flew together. This alternate ending holds out hope for a possible reunion between the lovers in the sequel. The alternate ending is also available in YouTube.

The studio released a teaser trailer for “Fifty Shades Darker” which sources say would be a thriller complete with risqué scenes. According to Hollywood Reporter, there has been creative differences between the author, E.L. James, and the director, Sam Taylor-Johnson. Recent reported revealed that Johnson is not directing the sequel and there has been no announcement about her replacement. However, both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson would reprise their roles as Christian and Anastasia, respectively. According to Guardian, both actors are in negotiation for higher salaries.

Fifty Shades of Grey has raked in more than $400 million across the world. It is based on the book by the same name by James.
