Since the erotica novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" written by author E.L. James hit the shelves, fans of the books have been imaging their favourite actors and actresses to play the lead roles. Now with a film adaptation in the works by Universal Studios, a lot of web polls have been up. With the news of the movie out by summer 2014, fans are desperate to know who has nabbed the role of Anastasia Steele.

Lately, the fan favourites said to play the role of Anastasia Steele are "Gilmore Girls" star, Alexis Bledel and "Twilight" actress, Kristen Stewart. Despite early news of Stewart not to be in the running for the role, it would seem that Kristen is back on the potential list of actresses set to play Ana. So who among these lovely brunettes are winning the polls?

It's a tough bout between these two stars that have certainly come a long way in the business. Alexis Bledel is quite popular for her cute and innocent role as Rory in the television series, "Gilmore Girls." Bledel most certainly resembles the description of Steele. Fans are anticipating the day Bledel would shed her good girl image to play Ana in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.

On the other hand is Kristen Stewart. The "Twilight" star had originally been the inspiration behind the character of Anastasia Steele. Of course, it would be just but normal to cast Stewart as Steele. Yet, fans of "Twilight" disagree on the casting claiming it would be a "Twilight" and "Fifty Shades" crossover that would simply make the movie not worth the thrill.

Stewart and Bledel may be on the top of the fan favourite list for Anastasia Steele but there are undoubtedly still a lot of actresses on the list. Gaining momentum is "Game of Thrones" star, Emilia Clarke. Following the lead of Clarke is Felicity Jones and Lucy Hale. Close to Lucy Hale's' rank is "Harry Potter" star, Emma Watson. Mila Kunis along with Emma Roberts are two other actresses mentioned on a few fan polls.
