Husband of the author of the bestselling erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" revealed that Ryan Gosling is up for the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the saucy novel.

According to NOW magazine, E.L. James' husband Niall Leonard said that "last he heard," Gosling, 31, was in the frame to play the role of Christian.

Leonard probably just heard Ryan Gosling is a fan favorite to play the role. However, his words has notoriety than any of us since he probably has the inside scoop of the film.

Last month, it was reported that Ryan Gosling, who was voted as 2011 sexiest man on the planet, was tipped to play the role of the sadistic billionaire.

However, there is no official word yet from the producers of the film Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti as they debunked these rumors via Twitter. The producers said that they are focused in finding a screenwriter for the film adaptation.

There is no stopping the casting rumors for the much awaited movie adaption of James' BDSM trilogy. Other stars rumored to be on the race for the role of Christian Grey are Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder and Henry Cavill.

Last month, "The Vampire Diaries" hot actor Ian Somerhalder was reported to be in negotiation with the producers of "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie. This rumor is quickly denied by the producers.

Same thing happened with Harry Potter alumnae Emma Watson is one of the frontrunners for the female lead. However, the British actress reacted to the rumors attaching her name to the movie adaptation of the popular erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey."

To the dismay of many people, there is no truth to the ongoing rumors and the actress is not casted. The actress made it clear that she has not received a phone call yet from the producers or director of the much awaited film.
