'Fifty Shades of Grey' Couple Casting: 'Robsten' Duo Still a Strong Contender [PHOTOS]
Official casting for the film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey" is still a long way off schedule. Of course, that fact isn't keeping fans from naming eligible and potential stars fit to play the role of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. For one, "Twilight" fans are still fighting hard into making the "Robsten" duo nab the coveted roles.
All thanks to Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" novels and films, E.L. James had taken inspiration for her S&M themed novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." Given that fact, a lot of "Twi-hards" insist that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart play the role of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively. A fan-made trailer of the "Robsten" duo taking on the BDSM-action has in fact taken quite the frenzy on social networking sites.
However, even with fans of "Twilight" insist that the couple play in "Fifty Shades", author E.L. James has confirmed that "Robsten" would not be starring in the film. Still, "Robsten" continues to be the strongest couple contender set to play the roles. Another question that best be answered is, would Pattinson and Stewart even agree to the roles if offered to them by Focus Features and Universal Studios?
"It's spicy. Yeah," mused Stewart, adding, "I don't know, I haven't read the whole thing and it's also a highly coveted part everyone is trying to. But I'm pretty daring."
As for Pattinson, Robert remarked that he'd "definitely play the part." With the couple "dying" to make a film together, would "Fifty Shades of Grey" finally be the film?
"Kristen has been busy looking at different scripts," stated a source, adding, "but what she really wants to do is a romantic, quirky comedy with Rob. This way they can spend plenty of time together. She doesn't want to be separated for long periods of time from him like when he went to Australia. This way they can work together and play together."
Will E.L. James reconsider casting the "Robsten" couple for the role or would other couple casting covet the elusive roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele? Only time can tell.
