Fifty Shades of Grey Gone Awry for Christian Grey Wannabe
It took no more than two hours for 12 jury persons to hear and judge the trial of Steven Lock's assault of a woman to say that he is not guilty.
Lock, who was charged with assault after re-enacting a similar master-slave sex act in the Fifty Shades of Grey novel, was freed of charges because of his partner's consent, according to Sydney Morning Herald.
"As far as I'm concerned, it was a consensual activity between adults," said Lock in a statement in The Sun.
Lock and his partner were reported to have engaged in group sex acts and bondage acts. In addition, the woman has signed a contract-similar to the story-wherein Lock was entitled to lash her if she did not accede to his wishes.
Sydney Morning Herald also reported that the woman was found to have tattooed "Property of Steven Lock" on her genital area.
The agreement between the couple included the safe word "Red," which was supposed to have been used at any time that any one felt uncomfortable, but Lock claimed that the woman did not use it during the 14 times that she was lashed with a rope.
Many are starting to question the extent of the erotic novel's influence on people, as there have been cases where readers have blurred the boundaries regarding the acts in the Fifty Shades.
Last year, a 41-year-old woman divorced her husband after he did not respond to her advances using sexy underwear and failed to satisfy her in the same way as portrayed by the scenes in the novel, reports Daily Mail.
