"Fifty Shades of Grey" is not exactly a great literary creative work, if one would take the word of book critics. EL James repeated several phrases and words.

The storytelling fumbles and pales in comparison to other literary works under erotic fiction. The characters' lives seem boring with nothing much going on. Still, the book has won the hearts of millions of female readers for its male hero, twenty-something billionaire BDSM demigod Christian Grey.

For this reason, the actor who would play Grey should really come alive on screen and give justice to the captivating character.

Grey is an accomplished business man at 28. He looks so young, he could even pass for mid-20s. But he does not act young. He is filthy rich, and he can hop ladies on a helicopter so they could see his sex and bondage wonder room. He sees sex as a thrillsome physical exercise that can satisfy all his senses. He wants his women to see sex the same way.

When Grey meets his love interest, Anastasia Steele, he begins to do things he has never done before. (Someone powerful "changing" or rediscovering himself because of a woman? Hopeless romantic women love the idea!) He claims he does not believe in romance, but his actions contradict himself. He is the kind of man a woman would be typically happy to change - "for the better."

He makes women do what he wants, but he makes sure they get something out of yielding to his will. Then he meets someone, and becomes just slightly different. His seductive ways make women's heart beat race and make them try things they have never tried before. The question now is, will Hollywood cast a convincing Christian Grey?

Here is a slideshow of men who could be convincing Christian Greys - if only they were younger. Understandably, the leading candidates for the role are young male actors. All of them are handsome men. But can they pull of the qualities that make Christian Grey a commanding sexual presence?

They can take inspiration from these sexy, confident and dapper Alpha men: Chris Noth, Patrick Dempsey, Michael Fassbender, Eric Bana and Hugh Jackman. They sure won't pass for a mid-to-late 20s, but their imposing stance and nuances speak of control and mystery. They can go convincingly dark and brooding if they want to, but when they want to get the ladies swooning, they know what to do.

He may be young, but Christian Grey chose to fast forward to living the life of an older man. Whoever will play Grey in the movies cannot look like just another attractive young boy.
