Even with a director finally on board for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film adaptation, this doesn't stop fans from delving into rumours about an official cast. For one, it'll only take a while before director Sam Taylor-Johnson finds suitable stars for the lead roles. As for now, Armie Hammer who has been eyed for the role of Christian Grey speaks up on the role.

Before Ian Somerhalder, Henry Cavill and Matt Bomer were eyed for the role of Christian Grey, one strong contender in 2012 was that of "The Social Network", Armie Hammer. Hammer along with Alexander Skarsgard were the fan favourites for the "Fifty Shades" role.

Unlike Skarsgard who had expressed interest in the role, Armie had kept mum about the talks. Finally, Armie Hammer addressed the casting rumours in an interview with Playboy Magazine. So what did the "Lone Ranger" star have to say about the role of Grey?

"No one actually offered me the movie, but while I was working on Lone Ranger my agent brought it up, and I said 'Nope,'" stated Hammer, adding, "I mean, come on - it's just mommy porn. I'm not going to sit on top of the laundry machine in spin cycle reading about putting a ball gag in someone's mouth. That doesn't do it for me."

Well, this statement is a clear "no" in Armie's case meaning Hammer is truly out of the running for the role of Christian Grey. Fans of Armie have better look for another actor to root for. With a director on board, it'll only take a while before an official cast is set to be announced.
