'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Australian Actor, Luke Bracey, Top Choice For Christian Grey
Looks lilke fans of "Fifty Shades" will likely see someone from "down under" nab the part of Christian Grey. The "Home & Away" star, Luke Bracey, is rumoured to be at the top of the list for the lead part in E.L. James erotica novel turned film. Does Luke Bracey fit the bill for the 27-year old entrepreneur?
Over the weekend, reports claim that Australian actor Luke Bracey is at the top of the list for the part of Christian Grey.
"Luke is at the top of the list," says an insider to US Weekly in a report by News.com.au.
Bracey managed to beat other potential stars namely Jamie Dornan, Matt Bomer, Alexander Skarsgard and Ian Somerhalder. Who exactly is Luke Bracey?
Bracey is a 24-year old actor who had starred along with Isabel Lucas in "Home and Away." As for big screen films, Luke had starred opposite Leighton Meester and Selena Gomez in the 2011 tween movie "Monte Carlo." However, Luke made the news in an entirely different headline when he was seen holding hands with Selena Gomez at the Golden Globes after party. Of course, the romance lasted as quickly as it began.
While reports claim the Australian star is at the top of the list, some say otherwise. It's a battle between Jamie Dornan and Scott Eastwood. "The Falls" star, Jamie Dornan is quickly gaining popularity over the web as the perfect choice for Christian Grey. On the other hand, Clint Eastwood's son, Scott Eastwood is becoming a fan favourite all thanks to his tweet over the weekend.
"What is all this talk about 50 shades of grey?? What do you all think?? Let me know. #hype #eastwoodlivin," stated Scott on his Twitter account.
Even with all the casting speculations around, only producers and E.L. James can announce the final choice for Christian Grey. Hopefully, their pick doesn't manage to disappoint fans like Charlie Hunnam. Hunnam might have considered taking on the part of Grey but dropped out only a month after. Reports claim Hunnam blamed his "schedule" but sources state he simply got "cold feet" from all the attention.
As for Luke Bracey, will this Australian hunk manage to nab the part with other equally hot actors vying for the part?
