'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Cara Delevingne Auditions for Film [PHOTOS]
Back in April, British model Poppy Delevingne was eyed as Anastasia Steele for the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Now, with the casting call announced, Poppy's little sister, Cara Delevingne has allegedly tried out for a part in the highly anticipated film adaptation. Could Cara Delevingne be auditioning for the part of Anastasia Steele or another role?
Universal Studios and Focus Features have taken quite a while to announce the casting call for the film adaptation of E.L. James erotica novel. The film is set to begin its shoot by the fall which would mean an official cast would be announced any time soon. Of course, numerous names have been mentioned as potentials for the lead roles one of which includes Cara Delevingne.
In a report by The Sun, the British model has supposedly tried out for the film. The report goes on to add that Cara's "close ties" with British director, Sam Taylor-Johnson might earn her a nod in the film adaptation.
"Cara is a front-runner for a part. She's desperate to get the gig and has always said that she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress," says the source to The Sun.
"[Cara] is a global icon now and a good actress as well and Sam wants her in the movie - though which part exactly hasn't been established," continues the source, adding, '"[Cara's] agent has also been talking to Kelly Marcel, the screenplay writer. And, if needs be, a strong role will be written in for her."
This isn't the first time Cara Delevingne has been pulled into the BDSM-themed fiction. Poppy Delevingne, Cara's older sister was eyed back in April for the role. Surprisingly, the tables have turned and this time it's all about Cara. The big questrion now is will Cara Delevingne really star in the film and as who? Of course, fans of the British model are hoping Cara is all for the part of Anastasia Steele.
