'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Cara Delevingne Fails to Land Role of Anastasia Steele in Film [PHOTOS]
Looks like British model, Cara Delevingne is officially out of the running in "Fifty Shades of Grey." Cara won't be starring as the lead or any other supportive role for the film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel. Guess that means no handcuffs for the model.
Early this month, Cara Delevingne allegedly auditioned for the part of Anastasia Steele. Sources close to the model claim that Cara had dreams of becoming a big movie star. For Cara, "Fifty Shades of Grey" was her big break. Given the casting call was announced early in August, Cara Delevingne immediately jumped on the chance. Yet, it looks like the hard work failed Cara. According to The Sun, Cara is no longer considered for the part of Anastasia Steele.
"The lead role was not something that was offered," stated the report.
Fans of Cara had hoped she would nab the lead role of Ana or any other supporting role. However, that wasn't the case for Delevingne even if she had close ties with the director, Sam Taylor-Johnson. Though the chances of Cara starring in "Fifty Shades of Grey" might have been squashed, Cara is to star in another film.
Delevingne has officially been cast as a party girl for a British film, "Kids in Love." Obviously, Cara won't need much acting given she's known for her clubbing lifestyles with the likes of Rita Ora and Rihanna. As for the fans of Cara, some are still hoping she'd be reconsidered for the part of Anastasia Steele or a supporting role in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
