'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Emma Watson Slams Rampant Rumours on Anastasia Steele Role [PHOTOS]
The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie is probably one of the most highly-anticipated film adaptations of the year. While the film is said to be out by summer of 2014, fans of E.L. James erotica novel are desperate to know who among Hollywood's hottest would star as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.
Well, fans are too desperate given some have been insistent on Emma Watson being cast as Ana that Watson has finally blown her fuse.
Fans of the "Fifty Shades" films have been keeping themselves busy with lists and polls of potential stars fit to play the lead roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls" and Matt Bomer of "White Collar" are currently in the lead for the role of Anastasia Steele and Christian grey respectively.
However, with the latest rumour of hackers having access to all the files of producers of the film, Emma Watson is the closest lead said to play Anastasia Steele. Yet, such rumours rubbed off the wrong way for the "Harry Potter" star. The actress sent out a tweet clearly saying that Emma wants nothing to do with the tacky role of Ana.
"Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life," stated Emma, later adding a question mark.
Obviously, Emma does not wish to be attached to the BDSM-themed film adaptation. The "Harry Potter" star was first linked to the role of Anastasia back in 2012. Nina Dobrev stated her "Perks of Being a Wallflower" star would love to play the role of Ana given Ryan Gosling would play opposite her as Christian Grey. Clearly, Nina's statement was a joke taken seriously by fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Watson may be growing up in terms of fashion and choice of roles but playing the racy role of Anastasia Steele is going too far. For one, Emma's name is clearly out of the running for the role. Fans of Watson should instead look forward to her other films of which include "Bling Ring", "Noah" and "Beauty & the Beast."
