'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev to Reconcile After Losing Out to Christian Grey Role? [PHOTOS]
The iconic couple of "Vampire Diaries" Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder had split early this year due to reasons unknown. Some claim that "Fifty Shades of Grey" was to blame for the split given Ian was eyed for the lead role. Now that Ian is officially out of the running for the film part, would he reconcile with his belle, Nina Dobrev?
Ian Somerhalder had long been a fan favourite for the part of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey." Somerhalder was among the few Hollywood celebrities who had expressed interest in the film. Yet, potentially starring in the film had its drawbacks for Somerhalder. This was none other than then-girlfriend Nina Dobrev who allegedly forbade Somerhalder from starring in the film.
Countless tabloids claim Nina forbade Ian from starring in the film and would only be supportive of the role given she would be cast opposite him as Anastasia Steele. However, it looks as if this wasn't a good idea for Somerhalder because the two split early in May.
"She doesn't want her man, covered only by a sock, dry humping an actress covered by strips of tape. That's why she believes she should be his leading lady. But here's the thing. Ian doesn't like to be limited. That's why he flew out of New York right around the time she flew into it," reported Celebdirty Laundry.
Yet, the two former lovers might reconcile soon given Ian has been said to be out of the running for the part of Grey. Also, with the two shooting scenes for the newest season of "Vampire Diaries", it'll be easy to rekindle the flames of love for Ian and Nina who star as lovers on the show.
