'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Shailene Woodley as Anastasia Steele [PHOTOS]

Brunette beauties in Hollywood have been eyed lately by a lot of "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans. Obviously, these fans are searching for the celebrity who would perfectly portray the 22-year old virginal college student, Anastasia Steele. Now, could "The Secret Life of an American Teenager" star, Shailene Woodley portray Ana?

"Fifty Shades of Grey" may not have made it to Time Magazine's Book of the Year 2012 but it sure has made it to the top of the best-sellers in history. E.L. James erotica novels continue to be bought off the shelves and fans of the S&M novels increase by the minute. Surprisingly, fans have been more aware of the novels all thanks to the highly-anticipated film adaptation set for a summer 2014 release.

A lot of actresses and actors in the business have been mentioned to play the lead roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey respectively. In fact, Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries" is a fan favourite for the role of Christian Grey. On the other hand, "Gilmore Girls" star, Alexis Bledel has been topping web polls for a while now.

However, a few fan favourites cannot be overlooked. Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill are two other iconic names included in the mix of actors suited to play Christian Grey. As for Anastasia Steele, Emilia Clarke, Felicity Jones and Emma Watson are a few notable actresses to play the 22-year old college student.

"The Secret Life of an American Teenager" Shailene Woodley has also been mentioned as a potential actress for the role of Ana. Ever since Woodley's casting in "The Descendants", the brunette beauty has been eyed for a lot of roles. With the natural brunette look and noticeably innocent look, Woodley is the perfect actress for Ana.

The downside however is that Woodley is signed on to play another character in a renowned film adaptation. Woodley is set to star as Hazel Grace Lancaster in John Green's best-selling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars." Apart from that role, Woodley has also been cast as Tris in another book to film adaptation, "Divergent." Currently, Woodley is busy filming scenes for "Amazing Spiderman 2" as Mary Jane Watson.

Too bad though, fans of Woodley won't likely be seeing this brunette star tied to a bed post playing out the racy role of Anastasia Steele.
