Apparently, the fan hate is getting to Charlie Hunnam. Despite being loved by a few readers for nabbing the part of Christian Grey, Hunnam can't avoid the throng of disappointed fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Reports claim Charlie is now concerned over his own safety with all the protests of angry fans involving the film adaptation.

Are the fans of E.L. James' erotica novel finally getting what they want? After launching a petition on Change.org, displeased fans are working ways to get Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson off the film adaptation. Obviously, it won't be easy nor would it be possible. Yet, there could be slight chance if Charlie Hunnam drops out of the role.

Rumour has it that Charlie Hunnam is starting to get paranoid over his own safety. In fact, producers already hired additional bodyguards for the "Sons of Anarchy" star. In a report by Classicalite, "not every person who visited the set" was a supporter of Charlie. This had prompted film executives to add bodyguards to safeguard Hunnam.

Like any other production studio, recasting won't be possible just to give in to the whims of the fans. The executive producer, Dana Brunetti, firmly stated they wanted both Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam for the film for their talent, availability and chemistry on screen. If fans had their own favourites, E.L. James' favourites are all that matters and that would be Charlie and Dakota.

The online protests continue up to this day which would make critics wonder if the film would be a hit or a miss. For now, all that's of utmost concern is the safety of their two lead stars, Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson.
