After much wait, "Fifty Shades of Grey" has finally landed its director. Sam Taylor-Johnson is set to direct the highly-anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling erotica novels. Here's what everyone needs to know about Director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Universal Studios and Focus Features have finally found a director to work on film production. Sam Taylor-Johnson has joined the "Fifty Shades" bandwagon and is set to work with fellow British native, Kelly Marcel on the script for the film. Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca are also set to produce the film alongside Taylor-Johnson. In fact, De Luca had great things to say about Sam.

"Sam's unique ability to gracefully showcase complex relationships dealing with love, emotion and sexual chemistry make her the ideal director to bring Christian and Anastasia's relationship to life," explained De Luca, adding, "EL James' characters and vivid storytelling require a director who is willing to take risks and push the envelope where needed, and Sam is a natural fit."

Hot rumours had flown around that directors like Susanne Bier, Joe Wright and Gus Van Sant were slated to direct the film. However, it is much clear now that Sam Taylor-Johnson has been hired for the job. All that is left next is to find Hollywood stars set to portray the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. So far, countless web polls with numerous celebrities have been mentioned as suitable for the roles.
