However, his girlfriend and "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev does not want Lucy Hale to be paired with Ian Somerhalder if he is officially cast in the film adaptation of the erotic novels.

Actress Lucy Hale has also been mentioned as the perfect choice to portray the character of Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film. Her performance in the hit TV series "Pretty Little Liars" is already a stepping stone that proves she is ready to embrace a very adult role.

Unfortunately, Nina Dobrev sounds hesitant about the possible on-screen pairing between Ian Somerhalder and Lucy Hale in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Nina fears that Ian might fall for Lucy if they get cast together since Lucy is the type of girl that Ian usually has eyes on.

Well, a resemblance is noticeable between Nina Dobrev and Lucy Hale since both actresses are slim, dark-haired and beautiful. Also, what worries "The Vampire Diaries" beauty is the on-screen romance of the main characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele where it revolves on sex and BDSM.

Nina Dobrev is reportedly more comfortable for Ian Somerhalder to be paired with other potential Anastasia Steele candidates such as actresses Emilia Clarke, Alexis Bledel and Lily Collins since all of them are already in a serious relationship.

Meanwhile, the couple's relationship is currently going strong that is why it is really hard to grasp the idea of Ian Somerhalder leaving Nina Dobrev for another girl. If Ian Somerhalder eventually bags the coveted role of billionaire Christian Grey, maybe all he has to do is persuade the movie producers to also cast Nina Dobrev so she won't have to worry anymore.
