"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie casting seems to have made some kind of progress. At the very least, there must have been a casting-related meeting. Why else would "Arrow" star Stephen Amell tease his fans about some FSOG-related meeting he had? If Amell has indeed beaten Matt Bomer to the Christian Grey role, thousands of Bomer fans will be heartbroken. But how's that possible? You have to see Amell as Oliver Queen.

Matt Bomer joins Ian Somerhalder and Henry Cavill as FSOG poll favorites for the Christian Grey role. Mr Grey, a gorgeous billionaire man-beauty, engages love interest Anastasia Steele in a steamy sex bondage adventure. Fans have consistently named only the hottest late-20s up to mid-30s actors in casting polls. Amell has only started this year to gain a solid following, thanks to thousands of Arrow fans. Here are three reasons why a late arrival may have managed to snag the Grey prize from a consistent pop contender.

3 Reasons Why Stephen Amell, not Matt Bomer Is/Could Be Christian Grey

1. Height/Build/Age. Stephen Amell, 31, is about an inch taller than Matt Bomer, 35. Amell also looks more brawny on screen. Bomer is much taller than Tom Cruise, though. So this is not a simple numbers game. The height of the actress Anastasia Steele may have figured in the choice. She has to be looking up when gazing into Mr Grey's eyes. Age could have also been considered because 'Fifty Shades' is a trilogy, and producers don't want to risk it. Bomer at 39-40 might fail to match Grey's looks at the end of the series.

2. The Lesser Mr. Nice Guy Vibe. Between Amell and Bomer, the former exudes the vibe of a man who is likely to enjoy hurting and/or getting hurt in bed. To be safe, this is based only on respective TV characters - Amell as Queen, Bomer as con-man turned FBI consultant Neal Caffrey.

3. Physical Connection. In USA's White Collar, Caffrey is fluent in the art and deception lingo. He is insanely creative and intuitive. In Arrow, Queen used to be a young and reckless playboy who had to survive in a jungle. Now he is a billionaire, who kills bad guys and frequently engages in martial arts madness. At the opening of each episode, fans see a montage of his sculpted abs during workouts, too. Amell's abs scream Mr Grey frame after frame.

That Matt Bomer is gay should not be part of the reasons why he would be eliminated in the Christian Grey game. But he sure can lose to other hot actors. What do you think about Amell's cryptic 'Fifty Shades' video message?
