'Fifty Shades of Grey' To Set The Screens On Fire At The Berlin Film Festival: Jamie Dornan And Dakota Johnson To Attend
"Fifty Shades of Grey" is all set to have its international premiere at Berlin Film Festival. The movie will be shown on Feb.11 at Berlinale Special Gala screening. The film's director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, author, E.L. James, and actors, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, are expected to attend the special screening of the film.
This announcement is being seen as a prestigious opportunity for the film. The story of the movie is based on James' book "Fifty Shades of Grey," which is popularly called "mommy porn." According to LA Times, by screening the film at the fest, the makers have a chance to show the artistic side of the film. It is the bold material of the film that has generated a lot of interest in this much anticipated movie of 2015. Last year, the festival organisers, had screened a film called "Nymphomaniac Volume 1", which dealt with a similar subject( erotica) as "Fifty Shades of Grey," the report said.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" features a "torrid romance" between business tycoon, Christian Grey, and a college graduate, Anastasia Steele. As their romance builds up, Grey introduces Steele to his secret side and whole new world of eroticism opens up. The film reportedly features sexual elements such as bondage, dominance, submission and sadism.
Dornan plays the role of Grey whereas Johnson plays Steele. In a recent interview, Dornan said that to prepare for his role, he visited a bona fide sex dungeon and saw people indulging in lovemaking. "I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did ... whatever they were into. I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives, I was like: 'Come on guys, I know I'm not paying for this but I am expecting a show,'" he said to Elle UK. "Fifty Shades of Grey" is scheduled to release on Feb. 14, 2015. Kelly Marcel has written the film's screenplay and Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and James have produced it. The cast and crew of the film have reportedly re-shot some of the film's scenes. The first trailer of the film was released in July. It can be seen below:
