'Fifty Shades of Grey' Update, Producers Speak Up On Film: 'Intensity' of Dakota Johnson's Sex Scenes With Jamie Dornan Should 'Not Be Questioned'
"Fifty Shades of Grey" stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reportedly lack on-screen chemistry. The two actors were recently spotted reshooting for the film in Vancouver, Canada, and sources say that reshoots were done because the previously filmed scenes were not "passionate" enough.
According to US Weekly, producers wanted the two actors to break the mould in terms of exuding sexual appeal in cinema. "Dakota isn't coming off sexy enough. [Anastasia Steele] needs to be naive, not a dishrag," the source further said of Dakota. However, a rep from Universal Pictures denied the rumours. "No one should question the heat or intensity of our actors," quotes US Weekly.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" is an erotic film based on the novel by E.L James. The film tells the story of a high-profile businessman who secretly practises BDSM. He meets Anastasia Steele after having 15 relationships with submissive girls.
The trailer of the film has already been released and it shows Anastasia Steele meeting Grey in his office and the two indulging in love-making. The movie will be out in the theatres on Valentine's Day next year.
Buzz also reports that the production house is planning on sequels to "Fifty Shades of Grey," according to the reports by Christian Today. They will be based on James' other two books in the trilogy, namely, "Fifty Shades of Darker," and "Fifty Shades of Freed." It is not certain, however, whether the same cast would return for the sequel or not. Jamie Dornan said in one of his interviews that he is sick of "being naked." This has led to speculations that Jamie may not make a comeback for the sequels in the pipeline.
Moreover, Dornan is also not prepared for the reviews and comments the cast and crew would receive once they start the official promotion of the film, according to ChristianToday. It has also been reported that the film does not have hard-core sex scenes, as the production wants the film to be accessible to a wide audience. Sam Taylor Wood is helming the film and the other stars include Rita Ora, Luke Grimes, Victor Rasuk, Max Martini and more.
