Over the weekend, rumours of Charlie Hunnam dropping out from the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" plagued the web. Author E.L. James had not spoken up on the issue which made fans all the more speculate that the rumours were indeed real. However, the film's' Christian Grey has spoken up on the matter. What did Charlie have to say?

Obviously, all the fan hate has managed to get on Hunnam's nerves. Sources claim that Charlie will be dropping out of the film adaptation all because of the negative reactions he's been getting. Celebrity Dirty Laundry claims the Hunnam regrets the part of Christian Grey. Of course, knowing the "Sons of Anarchy" star, this statement by the gossip site is simply a rumour.

Fans may recall that Hunnam defended himself against disappointed fans who claimed he wouldn't be able to pull of such BDSM scenes in the film adaptation.

"You know what, I had such a baptism of fire with regards to sexuality on camera at the beginning of my career," said Hunnam to the AP during the promotion of "Sons of Anarchy."

"I starred in the British Channel Four miniseries Queer as Folk, where I played a young, gay character, and there were some incredible, explicit sex scenes on that show. ... Now I am 16 years older and more mature so I don't anticipate them being too much of a problem. It's like anything else, just an exciting challenge," continued Hunnam.

In the latest interview with Hunnam, the "Pacific Rim" star claims he'll be able to pull off a fun and exciting version of Christian Grey.

"I did a lot of research and I did a lot of thinking about it and feel confident that I have a way to bring him to life that will be fun and exciting and honest," said Charlie.

For fans hoping the rumours of Charlie Hunnam dropping out of the film are true, sorry to burst that bubble because Hunnam is here to stay as "Fifty Shades of Grey's" Christian Grey.
