Filming of the children’s classic The Hobbit has been delayed after its director Peter Jackson had to undergo surgery for a perforated ulcer.

Work on the film will resume on February 14 with Jackson still onboard as the director of the film. A statement regarding the matter says: “Sir Peter is currently resting comfortably and his doctors expect him to make a full recovery.”

Filming for the movie has encountered several delays in the past years with the most recent being its director Guillermo Del Toro leaving the project and the studio hampered by budget issues.
