First it was the Jet, then Short Stack: 10 Australian Bands that Called it Quits
The pop-punk trio Short Stack announced that the three young punks from Newcastle, Australia were no longer in a band together.
In their Facebook Fanpage, they posted that "Dear friends, as you may be aware, stack is no more. Thank you so much for your support over the years, we really cannot express how much it means that you have let our music be a part of your lives and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Also a big thanks to all our crew and management/label; and even though we are no longer making music, we still remain the closest friends."
The Short Stack embarked into making music in 2004 when the three were just teenagers. They were known for their big and unruly hair and heavy eyeliner. In one way or another, their looks resembled that of 80s new wave bands such as The Cure, which they admit as their biggest influences.
Their debut album ranked No.1 in Australia and their two albums were both certified Gold. The band garnered an immense fan base and crowded various social media such as Twitter and MySpace.
Their third studio album Art Vandelay is unreleased and there is no word from the band or from their representatives if the album will be released.
