First Lady Michelle Obama has beaten even her popular husband, US President Barack Obama, as she topped the latest popularity survey among US politicians.

The poll’s results according to Agence France Presse represented how warm the First Lady and the US political leaders in general are being regarded by the American public.

It also showed that the First Lady received ‘warmth rating’ at 60.1 degrees, three degrees hotter than that of the President’s who ranked no. 4 with his score recorded at only 56.5 degrees, using the ‘feeling thermometer.'

Conducted by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, the survey asked registered voters to rate leaders from O to 100 degrees using what they call the "feeling thermometer". The highest numbers should reflect the warmest feelings.

Joining FL Michelle Obama at the top five are Former President Bill Clinton (59.2 degrees); New Jersey's popular Republican governor Christopher Christie (57 degrees); President Barack Obama (56.5 degrees); and former New York mayor Rudolph Giulani (52.3 degrees).

The Assistant Director for the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, Peter Brown clarified however, that the ‘warmth’ survey was conducted not because of the increasing noise made by the possible US presidential candidates.

“It is important to remember that this measure is not any kind of presidential trial heat, but it does reflect how voters feel about national figures, including politicians," Brown said, according to AFP.

The survey was conducted by Quinnipiac University from February 21 to 28 using polled 1,887 registered voters as respondents, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.3 percentage points.
