First Look: Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in 'X-Men Days of Future Past'
Katniss Everdeen has been turned blue! Fans of the "Hunger Games" franchise should of course fret not because all this is for Jennifer Lawrence's other film, "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Lawrence has dropped the bow, arrow and brunette hair in exchange for a blue suit and striking orange wig. Here's all the latest on Lawrence's new film look.
Director Bryan Singer of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" had surprised a lot of fans with the latest photo of Mystique, played by Jennifer Lawrence. Lawrence is back in blue with her iconic bodysuit, neon orange hair and shifty yellow eyes.
"First look: #JenniferLawrence as a vengeful #Mystique. #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast," stated Singer on his Twitter along with the photo.
In the film, Lawrence reprises the role of Mystique. It's been two years since the release of "X-Men: First Class" where Jennifer first stepped out in the blue body suit. Lawrence had taken over the role from Rebecca Romijn back in 2011. Lawrence affectionately calls her character "Mystink" for the six hour process of getting into the scaly blue suit.
With regards to the film, the official synopsis of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" remains a bit vague. For one, X-Men "must travel in time to change a major historical event that could globally impact man and mutant kind." This is certainly one film Lawrence fans should keep an eye out for. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is set for a 2014 release.
Other stars Director Bryan Singer had posted photos of for "X-Men" includes Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Lawrence's rumoured on-again beau, Nicholas Hoult as Beast. Emmy award winning actor, Peter Dinklage of "Game of Thrones" is also set to make an appearance but Director Singer has kept mum on the role. Actors James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender reprise their roles in the film as the younger versions of Charles Xavier and Magneto respectively.
While Lawrence isn't in the blue suit, the "X-Men" and "Hunger Games" star is busy making heads turn at the Cannes Film Festival. The newly short-haired actress had donned three separate fashionable numbers all from Dior.
