GHD, the known hair drying and straightening line, is teaming up with none other than Katy Perry in their new ad campaign.

Katy relives a mystical mermaid in the newest poster of the hair product line. The "Teenage Dream" singer seems to fit in for the part since she's known for her evolving hair styles and hair colors throughout her career.

The brand chose Katy Perry as their global ambassador together with its promise to deliver the best results from their new ionic technology and power professional hairdryer. The brand launched the first look of Perry photographed by renowned photographer David Chapelle.

"David La Chapelle made the set amazing," the singer gushed. "It was fun - I got to have purple hair which foreshadowed the real purple hair I had last fall. It's as if Lisa Frank had done The Little Mermaid."

Katy transformed into a beautiful mermaid showcasing her healthy pink locks. The singer also admitted that she is a fan of Disney mamovies and adored the mermaid costume they used for the advertisement. Perry was even in consideration to keep the costume and use it for the next Halloween.
