Kirsten Dunst just loves kissing upside down all of which can be seen in her movies which would probably be the inspiration to this upcoming science-fiction movie “Upside Down.”

Directed by Argentina based Juan Diego Solanas, “Upside Down” would be best described in four words: romance, sci-fi and an alternate universe. The plot basically revolves around one man’s search, played by Jim Sturgess, for his long-lost love from the past that of course will be played by the ever lovely Kirsten Dunst.

This actress seems to enjoy upside down kissing as evidenced by her last smooch in the Spider Man Movies with Toby Maguire. Thus leads to the conclusion that she plays the perfect damsel in this topsy-turvy movie.

The movie has been in the works since the year 2009 and it took quite a long time before its’ actual trailer was revealed only now. “Upside Down” would be a science fiction version take of the ever popular Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet.

In an alternate universe where one world literally lives over the other, love is forbidden between the two which of course does not stop Kirsten Dunst from pursuing Jim Sturgess even if he’s ironically a few inches away from her head. Jim Sturgess luckily plays the part however a few sources claim that Emile Hirsch was the production studio’s first choice for the main role.

For a European science fiction production, it comes as no surprise that a relatively huge budget was allocated for the graphic depiction of the film which can be seen in the films first trailer and despite film critics comparing Solanas’ film to “Alien Resurrection” we can’t deny that the film still has substance.

“Upside Down” was mainly produced in a French Company Studio of which also includes Onyx Films and Montreal Transfilm, which means it has yet to secure distribution of the film in the United States.

No word as to when the film will actually be out but great news for science fiction fans because “Upside Down” will be out this year. One thing is for sure, Kirsten Dunst won’t fail when it comes to upside down smooching. See for yourself and decide if the film is one movie worth watching this 2012.
