First-time Royal Parents Prep Informal Tea Party For Son's Christening
First-time Royal Parents Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly planning an informal tea party for Prince George's christening. The tea party will be held at Kensington Palace before the auspicious ceremony. This event highlights the baby's formal welcome to the royal family.
According to anonymous sources, the party will honor some friends and relatives who won't be invited for the formal christening ceremony later this week.
Christening of the third-in-line-heir to the British throne is being planned in as subdued manner as possible. According to the sources, those who are close to the couple will be a part of this party.
Expected guests at this private family occasion are some friends from their university days at St. Andrews and Prince William's coworkers from the RAF Search and Rescue team in Angelsey.
The ceremony will take place at the Chapel Royal, St. James' Palace Wednesday. Spiritual leader of the Church of England, the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will led the christening of Baby George in a 45-minute intimate ceremony.
Kate Middleton's and Prince William's decision to conduct the royal christening at Kensington Palace and not at Buckingham Palace as the royal family tradition had surprised the world. This will be the first time when the royal christening will be held in a place other than the Buckingham Palace.
Earlier, it was heard that the royal parents want to do things differently and not the traditional way.
"William and Kate are going to do things differently, and actually, their families are respectful of that. This won't be a case of a big rift. Christenings are not state occasions. They're private affairs and can be as big or intimate as the parents' desire." a source told E! News
