FKA twigs does not aspire to be friends with Taylor Swift, says she wants to be confident on red carpet
Being friends with Taylor Swift is a sort of status symbol for many celebrities but Robert Pattinson's fiancee FKA twigs is not one of them. The British singer acknowledged Swift for her success but said she has not intention to be on her friend's list.
“I think Taylor Swift is great, but I wouldn't necessarily think, 'Oh my god, I have to be friends with her’," twigs told Paper magazine in a recent interview.
Swift, who is known for her friendship with various singers and celebrities like Lorde, Selena Gomez, Serena Williams and many more, has not yet responded to twigs' comment.
Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, also said she is not particularly fond of the term “fan” and has no plans to come up with a name for them like 'Selenators,' 'Beliebers,' 'Swifties,' 'Arianators,' 'Directioners,' etc.
“I don't even like calling fans 'fans.' It's like, [pulls face ] Ugh, fans. [laughs] It's just people that like your music," said twigs.
Despite all the racial abuse she has suffered online, the 27-year-old singer is quite appreciative of the people she meets daily. She proudly calls her fans “quite creative and intelligent, kind, sensitive.”
“Some are old ladies, witch doctors from Louisiana, kids that have just left art school. Gay or lesbian couples, straight middle-aged couples...," she said, describing her fans.
The songstress also talked about what she is “good at” and what she need to “get better at.” The multi-talented songstress wants to write her own songs and also get into producing. She aspires to learn classical and contemporary dancing and also get better at Vogueing.
Twigs, who often comes across as a shy person, also said she wants to “get better at being in front of the camera, not feeling awkward if I go on the red carpet.” She further stated that she is comfortable talking to someone on one-to-one basis but when it comes to a point where she is the centre of attraction, she gets into her shell.
