The iconic bitten apple on the iPod, iPad and iPod Shuffle has changed the way we listen to music. The pied piper of this great shift, Steve Jobs, changed not only the way we listen to music but how we look at it too. His designs focused on perfection. Jobs made it a point that his designs were bordered on utter precision. Each slide, touch, angle and button was created to sleek elegance.

Alongside Jobs' creation of the Apple iPod came the creation of iTunes. With the help of iTunes, the music industry has boomed into the digital age. Jobs managed to convince record labels to put up their music on an online store selling them as legal digital music.

As tribute to Jobs, who died Oct. 5, the Flaming Lips will be performing a Beatles classic, "Revolution," at MTV's O Music Awards 2 on Monday. As a celebration of innovators, artists and fans' impact on digital music, O Music Awards 2 stands for Offbeat, Outrageous and Online. The performance of the Flaming Lips will be broadcast entirely on the iPad at 8:30 p.m. Pacific time.

Wayne Coyne, front man of Flaming Lips, recently tweeted a video of himself messing around with a Mugician iPad application. Would he be referring to the application that they would use for their live stream tribute? The band's use of the iPad is rumored to be the most expansive exposure of the device as a musical instrument - one function Jobs himself had not used during the product launch.

As for the performance recorded solely with the iPad will be broadcast worldwide on MTV's OMusicAwards.com by Tuesday. The award show taking place in Los Angeles will be headlined by singer Robyn. Tyler the Creator, Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson and Travie McCoy will also perform.
