'The Flash' season 3 episode 22 recap and review: The team faces off with Black Siren; Wally learns Barry is The Flash
Original air date on The CW: May 17, 2016; Next episode airs May 24
In the penultimate episode of “The Flash,” Barry (Grant Gustin) feels ready to take on Zoom (Teddy Sears) and the rest of the meta-humans.
Barry returned to the present day but did not share much about the Speed Force to his team, which worried them. Barry noticed how his actions were affecting others and he found that he also could not help Joe (Jesse L Martin) with Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale), since the latter was much like his father. Barry felt invincible after his recent ordeal and is ready for some action against Zoom.
Jesse and Wally did not seem to exhibit superhuman powers after being exposed to the dark matter. However, there is still a possibility that they may become supernatural in dire situations.
The team planned to stop Black Siren using the concept that Earth-1 and Earth-2 individuals function on different frequencies. Cisco also came up with a strategy to forward a dimensional shock therapy to be enhanced by Barry which will create a refracting field around the city. It turned out that Laurel Lance’s (Katie Cassidy) Earth-2 version was imprisoned to be used in the future.
Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) covered up as Reverb and Killer Frost to distract Black Siren, allowing Barry to put them in the Pipeline. When Barry faced off against Black Siren, she almost finished him off with her powerful scream. When she stopped to give a speech, Wally arrived and knocked her down. It seems that Wally is more determined than ever to join the battle against the meta-humans, and Barry can no longer stop him.
Later Zoom took Henry (John Wesley Shipp) for Barry to watch his parent die. After Henry told Barry that he has been happiest because of him, Zoom hit his chest powerfully.
Wally also found out that Barry is The Flash. Henry’s death will most likely turn Barry into a more intense character who will no longer hold back. The Season 2 finale of “The Flash” will air on May 24 on The CW. It will also air on Fox8 in Australia.
